What a Greenhouse application asks for
Greenhouse boards live on greenhouse.io, and many companies embed one on their own careers page. Advant recognizes both. On an embedded board the link usually carries a gh_jid parameter, which is how Advant knows it is looking at a Greenhouse form.
The form is a mix. Fixed fields such as name, email, phone, and résumé come first, then custom questions the hiring team added for that role, then an optional demographic section. The phone field comes with a country-code list that runs to hundreds of entries, and most dropdowns are custom widgets rather than plain selects. Advant opens the list and picks the option that matches your profile.
Where Greenhouse applications stop
Custom questions are the usual stopping point. "Describe a system you scaled" has no answer in a profile, so Advant leaves it open, lists it for you, and waits. A CAPTCHA gets the same treatment.
What Advant fills
- Name, email, phone, and location, including the phone country-code list.
- Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, and your portfolio.
- The résumé version that fits the role and your cover letter, uploaded as files or pasted into the text box.
- Work authorization, sponsorship, and other yes/no questions your profile already answers.
What comes back to you
- Custom essay questions written for that role.
- A CAPTCHA, if the board shows one.
- Anything that would need a guess.
Questions about auto apply
Do I need a Greenhouse account to apply?
No. Greenhouse-hosted forms take an application without a candidate account, which is why Advant can file them from the cloud without your login.
Can Advant apply to a Greenhouse job on the company's own careers page?
Often. When the company embeds a Greenhouse board and the link keeps the Greenhouse job id, Advant treats it as a Greenhouse application. If it cannot tell, the application goes to the browser extension instead.
What about the demographic questions at the end?
Advant declines them. Diversity answers never reach employers through Advant.
Can I look at the application before it goes out?
Yes. With review before submit on, the form is filled in your browser through the extension and the last click is yours.
