Auto apply Chrome extension
Auto apply on Workday, iCIMS, and other sign-in sites.
Some application forms need an account, a login wall, or a person to click a CAPTCHA. The Advant Chrome extension handles those in your own browser, with your own sign-ins, using the same form engine as the cloud runner.
How it works
-
01
Create an extension key
In Advant, open Profile, then Browser extension, and create a key. Paste it into the extension popup.
-
02
Queue applications
Pick roles as usual. Anything the cloud runner does not handle waits for the extension.
-
03
Let it run
Press Run now, or leave it on its 15 minute schedule. Check the tracker for anything marked needs you.
Why it runs in your browser
A cloud runner cannot log in as you, and it should not. Workday and iCIMS employers usually want a candidate account per company. The extension works from your browser, your IP address, and the sessions you are already signed in to, and you are there when a CAPTCHA appears.
What it does
Press Run now in the extension popup, or let it check the queue every 15 minutes. It picks up applications marked ready that the cloud runner does not own, opens each posting in a background tab, and fills the form.
If review before submit is off, it submits, and a confirmed submit closes the tab. Anything it cannot finish stays open in that tab and shows as needs you on the tracker. When the posting moves to another step, such as the next Workday page, the extension fills that one too.
What the extension key can do
The extension signs in with a key you create in Advant. The key can read your application queue and report results. It cannot reach the rest of your account, and it expires.
What Advant fills
- Your profile details, links, résumé, and cover letter on Workday, iCIMS, and other forms.
- Multi-step forms, page by page.
- Custom questions you have answered before.
What comes back to you
- CAPTCHAs. The tab stays open so you can click it.
- Sign-ins the browser is not already holding.
- Questions with no answer on file.
Questions about auto apply
Do I need the extension for Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby?
Not unless review before submit is on. With review on, the extension fills the form in your browser and you press submit. Otherwise those three are filed from the cloud.
Does the browser need to stay open?
Yes. The extension runs in Chrome, so Chrome has to be open for it to work through the queue. It needs Chrome 116 or newer.
Why does the extension ask for access to all sites?
Employer application pages sit on thousands of different domains. The extension opens only the postings in your Advant queue.
What if it gets stuck?
The application is marked needs you, and the tab stays open at the point where it stopped. Use Open and fill in the popup to pick it up again.
